\haupttext{Your letter reached me here to-day, probably crossing one I sent you one from London. We are sailing Aug\,1st so this is
to say Auf Wiedersehen, on American soil. I shall send you a snap-shot of the two of us from New York where we have
friends who own cameras. I regret very much I cannot stay for the Congress\II{\pariserkongress} -- I would love to be present at your
discussions. I hope you will have an enjoyable vacation and leave Pistany in the best of health. (I was born in
Novemesto, a half-hour ride away). Mrs. Carnaps\IN{\ina} English is quite idiomatic and will speak it perfectly when I see you. I
shall write you again from New York.}
