\haupttext{I am sending your letter to the Countess Zeppelin\IN{\zeppelin} tomorrow. The latest news is that she is ill in bed, but that another
division of the book\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch} is almost ready.

I am still waiting, however, for her \uline{Key} to the `symbols` she has used, which was to have been sent to me (and
by me to you, for approval), before putting the last touches to any more. I am hoping to get this \uline{Key} material in
a day or two. When I get it, I will send it forward to you.

By the way, I was very surprised by your story of Max Black's\IN{\black} offer to go over the Countess Zeppelin's\IN{\zeppelin} work. I sent him
a letter about this some weeks back, and now I have his answer, which is that he would be very pleased to do so -- but
what is \neueseite{} the payment? Naturally, there is no room for any more payments on our side, and it is not probable that you
will be ready to give him \textsterling{}\,10 out of your \textsterling{}\,20 to make suggestions for small changes. He is no better at
such work than the Countess\IN{\zeppelin}.

Possibly he might be ready to go over the book\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch} when it is in the first stages of print for \textsterling{}\,5; and, if there
was enough money about, that might be a good idea. But it would have to be your `funeral`.

I send your copy of the London University\II{\universitaetlondon} letter. \blockade{ksl.} Please send back the other two bits. I have had the cheque, and the
\textsterling{}\,30 is in the bank. The suggestion in your letter of January\,16 seems to me the best way out; so you may send
them back the signed agreement. The only detail to be fixed is the question of a fee of \textsterling{}\,20, \textsterling{}\,19, or
\textsterling{}\,18. One is not quite certain of the number of free copies needed for distribution by these University
Committees. They seem to say \uline{one}, but they have a tendency to make a request for more when they see the book\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch}
itself; and there are certain persons in the University\II{\universitaetlondon}, such as Miss Stebbing\IN{\stebbing} and the Provost, to whom copies will
certainly be sent.

These free copies will be put in the account at 33 1/3\% off the price to the public, and the balance of \textsterling{}\,20
will be sent to the American Express (for you), when \uline{Syntax} comes out.

The price to you, for more copies of \uline{The Unity of Science}\IC{\unityofscience} or \uline{Philosophy and Logical Syntax}\IC{\londonervortraege}, will be the
same 33 1/3\% off, or 1/8 a copy, as with all such books.}
