\haupttext{Thank you for your letter of Jan.\,9, and for the \uline{MS\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch} of Countess Zeppelin\IN{\zeppelin}}, p.\,1-97. I am very glad that you have
the impression of a good and natural English style (which of course I am not able to judge about). Also from the point of
view of suitability of the expressions for the meaning intended, the translation seems to me to be good, taken in the
whole. I remarked some details and wrote my suggestions in pencil. Perhaps you or Miss Graham\IN{\graem} may revise my remarks in
the MS\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch}, and also the general remarks in my letter enclosed here. The task of the translation of the book\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch} is not an easy
one, and I think, we may be satisfied. Most of my remarks in the MS\IC{\logischesyntaxenglisch} concern only questions of expressions; but there are
also some cases of misunderstanding. Perhaps it is better not to urge the Countess too much; though I might wish a soon
appearance of the translation, nevertheless the quality of the translation will of course be \sout{very} more
important then the time of appearance.

Please forward the \uline{enclosed letter to the Countess\IN{\zeppelin}!}

What is the \uline{author-price for Miniature\II{\psycheminiatures}-volumes} (``Unity``\IC{\unityofscience} and ``Lectures``) if I take further copies?

\uline{London University}\II{\universitaetlondon}. If you wrote a new letter in my name, could I get a copy? If not, please return the
vacuous sheet with my signature! -- I got a letter from the University\II{\universitaetlondon} from Jan.\,1 (arriving during my
absence), with an enclosed ``Memorandum of Agreement``, which I am requested to sign and to return. This Memorandum
contains the following proposition: ``The Author hereby undertakes that if he should at any time receive any royalties
and/or profits from the sale of the said work in excess of the costs to him of its publication he will out of such excess
royalties and/or profits as and when the same are received by him refund the amount of the said grant to the
university\II{\universitaetlondon}.`` Now the situation seems to be the following: either I sign the Memorandum and accept the grant, then I
cannot, as far as I understand, accept a fee from you; or I renounce the grant, then I get a fee of \textsterling{}\,5. But of
course it would be a pity not to accept such a fine grant. How may we arrange the matter? Could you perhaps give me for
the ``Syntax''\IC{\logischesyntax} (beside the royalties stated before) a fee of \textsterling{}\,20, to be paid at the time of appearance? Then I
could renounce a fee for the Lectures and accept the grant for them.
