Ernest Nagel an Rudolf Carnap, 10. November 1934 November 1934

Dear Professor Carnap‚

You may remember that I met you at the CongressIInternationaler Kongress für Philosophie@8. Internationaler Kongress für Philosophie, Prag, 2.-7.IX.1934 during September, and at that time you were kind enough to suggest that when I returned to Prague I should write you. I hope you will have time to see me and discuss with me some of the problems of logic and methodology. I am staying at the Pension Fišer, Petřska 3, and mail will also reach me at the Čedok, Na Prikope.

I have seen Professor AjdukiewiczPAjdukiewicz, Kazimierz, 1890–1963, poln. Philosoph in Lwow, and he asked me to tell you that he has received a copy of your bookB1934@Logische Syntax der Sprache, Wien, 1934 and that he is sending the money through the American Express Company. He also asked me to express his regret at being unable to send you the German translationB of Dr. Tarski’sPTarski, Alfred, 1901–1983, poln.-am. Mathematiker und Logiker bookB, for the only copy of the translation that exists is in long-hand, and he needs it at present for the printer.

In the hope of hearing from you soon, I remain.

Very sincerely yours‚
Ernest Nagel
