\haupttext{I was very pleased to get your letter of May\,31 and the copy of the ``Logische Syntax``\IC{\logischesyntax} sent by Springer\II{\springerverlag}. The price is
quite a shock; more than 30/- in English money! But Hilbert\IN{\hilbert} Vol.\,I\IW{} is even more, almost \textsterling{}3 by post in
English money!

1. I am sending you a letter in the form of an `agreement` with this.

2. I will send a copy of \uline{The Unity of Science}\IC{\unityofscience} to ``Philosophy of Science``\II{\philosophyofscience}. I am noting that you now have an
account with the American Express Co., \uline{6} Haymarket. I will send the balance there when I have made certain of the
amount. (There seems to be 4/- for \uline{Analysis} and 10/- for some Basic books).\fnAmargin{Hsl. \original{\blockade{Datum} ,,the books were free.``}}

3. Why not do \uline{one} of your ``London Lectures``\IC{\londonervortraege} in Basic? I would be happy to go through a rough copy in the
simplest English you are able to \neueseite{} send. There would be no need to say it was in Basic till after the event. It will be
best to let Kegan Paul\II{\keganpaulverlag} have a first chance (an `option`) on the book\blockade{Ksl.} till you are able to send enough of it for them to
get an idea of the material. The ``Logische Syntax``\IC{\logischesyntax} is so \uline{very} hard for a business house to see as anything but
a loss; its public being limited to a small number of experts, most of whom have a good knowledge of German, with a nine
months start for Springer\II{\springerverlag} who has \uline{all} their names!

It is sad news about Professor Frank\IN{\frankphilipp}. I am hoping to see him in England another time.

I have not Bertrand Russell's\IN{\russell} present address, and so have not so far sent him ``The Unity of Science``\IC{\unityofscience}. He is away in
Wales, and ``The Russell Divorce`` was a headline in the newspapers last month, as coming on soon.}
