Charles Morris an Rudolf Carnap, 11. Juli 1934 Juli 1934

Dear Professor Carnap‚

I am sorry to bother you again so soon, but it occurred to me that since you may be away from Prag when we arrive, it may be well to ask your advice concerning living quarters.

You may remember that we have six year old childPMorris, Sally, Tochter von Charles W. und Trude Morris with us – and we do not speak Czech. So we would prefer to be in German speaking section of the city. We must to live without too great expense. Here we live with a German family and found it satisfactory. Perhaps it would be possible to find such a family among the University group in Prag. Or perhaps you know of a good pension. Or finally, it may be possible to make arrangements through the International CongressIInternationaler Kongress für Philosophie@8. Internationaler Kongress für Philosophie, Prag, 2.-7.IX.1934. We know only of the hotels Ambassador and Šroubek in Prag but we do not whether they would be too expensive or whether something else would not be more desirable.

Please do not put yourself to any great trouble, but I would appreciate a word of advice.

Things go well here – I have spoken to SchlickPSchlick, Moritz, 1882–1936, dt.-öst. Philosoph, verh. mit Blanche Guy Schlick, WaismannPWaismann, Friedrich, 1896–1959, öst.-brit. Philosoph, verh. mit Hermine Waismann, MengerPMenger, Karl, 1902–1985, öst.-am. Mathematiker, verh. mit Hilda Menger, BühlerPBühler, Karl, 1879–1963, dt.-am. Psychologe, verh. mit Charlotte Bühler etc. and done a lot of reading.

Cordially
Charles W Morris
