Charles Morris an Rudolf Carnap, 3. Juni 1934 Juni 1934

Dear Professor Carnap –

Perhaps it would be best if you would send the copy of your book to me in care of Prof. SchlickPSchlick, Moritz, 1882–1936, dt.-öst. Philosoph, verh. mit Blanche Guy Schlick– we will be in Vienna about July 1st. I have been reading many of your writings recently, and these, together with your new bookB1934@Logische Syntax der Sprache, Wien, 1934, will give us much to discuss. I look forward eagerly to our conversations. There is no doubt whatever of the high significance of your work.

Please do not disturb your own plans for a vacation on our account. Simply let us know the date and place and we will arrange our plans so as to meet you and your wife. Then in case my wife finds the altitude too high she can go down to a lower altitude, and I will remain on with you. I doubt if 4 or 5 thousand feet (say 12 to 16 hundred meters) would bother her. In any case, please do not inconvenience yourself. Make your plans, let us know the results, and we will be there!

Very sincerely

yours
Charles W. Morris
