\brief{S. J. Worsley an Rudolf Carnap, 20. März 1934}{März 1934} %20th March, 1934. \anrede{Dear Sir,} \haupttext{I am directed by the Academic Council\II{}, acting on behalf of the Senate\II{}, to ask if you will consent to deliver in this University a Course of two or three Lectures\IC{\londonervortraege} on a subject connected with Philosophy. The inclusive fee offered for the course is \pounds\,45. If, as we hope will be the case, you are able to accede to this request, and to render the University\II{\universitaetlondon} this important service, I should be glad if you would kindly suggest dates that will meet with your convenience. The dates for the University Terms for the Session 1934-35 are as follows: 1st Term: 4th\,October to 12th\,December, 1934. 2nd Term: 15th\,January to 26th\,March, 1935. 3rd Term: 30th\,April to 2nd\,July, 1935. The University Examinations are held at the end of the Third Term, and it is hoped therefore that your Lectures may be given in the First or Second Term, or, if in the Third Term, before the end of May. If you desire to give the Lectures in the First Term it would be convenient to receive with your reply, or as soon as possible afterwards, the title of the Course for inclusion in the University Gazette\II{} and elsewhere. While the publication of Special University Lectures is in no sense a condition, the Council hope that the Lectures may be published, and a Publication Fund has been instituted by the Senate\II{} from which grants may be made for the purpose. The University\II{\universitaetlondon}, however, cannot take part in any negotiations for the publication of the Lectures. I should make it clear that there is no obligation to publish, that the University makes no claim on the copyright of your lectures, and that if you decide to publish, the question of the manner of publication is entirely one for you and your publishers. I am,} \grussformel{Yours faithfully,\\ S. J. Worsley\\ Academic Registrar} \briefanhang{Prof.Rudolf Carnap, University of Prague Czecho-Slovakia.
