C. K. Ogden an Rudolf Carnap, 13. Jänner 1934 Jänner 1934

Dear Dr. Carnap‚

I was very pleased to ? your Basic letter. (There is only one ‘serious‘ error! ‘Soon‘ is not Basic). The rest is all quite clear, but I have made changes in pencil on points of idiom. Some of them are special uses listed in the ABC 250; but there is no need for anyone who is not English to be troubled by them. Please do some more. Yours is one of the very best first attempts we have ever had.

Mr. BlackPBlack, Max, 1909–1988, brit.-am. Philosoph says he is now in touch with you, and everything seems to be in order. 🕮

Our representatin in Prague, Dr. V\'cadloPVcadlo, Dr., Repräsentant des Orthological Institutes in Prag (Václav 35), was here Dec 15 to Dec 30. When requested, he would be happy to get in touch with you. He is a very good friend, and a man of great learning. Dr. NeurathPNeurath, Otto, 1882–1945, öst. Philosoph und Sozialwiss., heiratete 1912 Olga Neurath und 1941 Marie Neurath is now making some pictures for Basic teaching.

You may get a letter from the Countess von ZeppelinPZeppelin, Amethe von, *1896, brit. Übersetzerin, verh. mit Leo von Zeppelin on her way back through Vienna, about putting your new bookB1937@The Logical Syntax of Language, London, 1937 into English

The names of sciences not yet internationally fixed may be put “ “; but most of them are now international in part.

It would give us much pleasure to have your name in the list on page 6.

I am reading the books you so kindly sent with great interest, and when you come to England there will be points of detail for discussion.
