Bertrand Russell an Rudolf Carnap, 9. Oktober 1933 Oktober 1933

Dear Professor Carnap

In reply to your letter of Sep. 28, I shall be happy to be a member of the committee of the “Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Philosophie”IGesellschaft für wiss. Philosophie, Berlin, if there I can be of any use, & if “Erkenntnis”IErkenntnis, Zeitschrift is going to remain the excellent periodical that it has hitherto been. I am not quite sure, however, whether you are wise in wanting my name. I am a socialist, & I took a pacifist attitude during the war; the German government is more likely to know these facts than to know that I have written on mathematical logic. As to this, I leave you to judge; but do not add my name unless you are persuaded it will be useful. 🕮

I am much interested in what you say about the bookB1934@Logische Syntax der Sprache, Wien, 1934 you have been writing, & I look forward to seeing it.

Yours very truly‚
Bertrand Russell
